Last Day of Filippi Winery in Guasti

The last day the Joseph Filippi Winery Tasting Room is open in Guasti on December 31, 2007. The store, near LA-Ontario Airport, is closing because of planned mixed-use development. Filippi Winery will continue to operate in Rancho Cucamonga. The nearby post office will close and relocate in a few days, Saffron's Restaurant and Catering will also close, but not until fall 2008.

Topping-off Ceremony, Chino Hills

One of the last iron beams is placed in the Chino Hills Government Center under construction near the corner of Peyton Drive and Grand Avenue in Chino Hills on Thursday, November 29, 2007. Known as the Topping-off Ceremony, three symbolic items were placed on the beam; an evergreen tree, a U.S. flag and a broom.
